Above Ground Septic System Upgrade In Morayfield

Upgrading an Old Above-Ground Treatment Plant in a Flood Zone

Recently, our septic technicians, Dan and Tony, removed and replaced an old, outdated above-ground treatment plant on a flood-prone Morayfield property. In flood zones, septic systems need to be carefully designed to prevent floodwater from entering the tank or damaging critical electrical components. Older systems are often installed above ground to reduce the risk of flooding, which creates a large unsightly obstruction and makes the surrounding area difficult to use comfortably. 

For this project, the existing above-ground treatment plant was old and unusable, so the best way forward was to fully replace it.

Installing a Modern Flood-Compliant Taylex Treatment System In Morayfield

To create a cleaner and more practical solution, our team removed the old septic system and installed a new Taylex Home Sewerage Treatment Plant (HSTP).

Rather than leaving the system exposed above ground, the new system used flood-compliant modifications to protect the system while improving the appearance and functionality of the home's garden.

This included:

• Mounting electrical components on a raised frame above the flood level
• Installing flood-proof lids to prevent water from entering the tank
• Upgrading to a modern treatment plant with improved reliability
• Designing the system to remain safe and compliant within the flood-prone area
